Ramtin Ghazavi, born in 1980 in the city of Esfahan, is the only one Iranian tenor known worldwide. In fact, classical opera was forbidden in Iran but this wasn’t enough to stop his great passion for singing, which he has shown since he was a child. Indeed, he headed out on a hard, challenging journey, at whose end he could live out his lifelong dream. In 2003, he began studying music and opera singing in Italy and soon graduated from the Conservatory “G. Verdi” in Milan. Later, he improved himself at the Italian Opera Academy in Bologna. Since the launch of his career, he has performed in many Opera Houses thoughout Europe. At the moment, he works for the theater “La Scala” in Milan. He is not just the only Iranian tenor who performed at the famous “Teatro Scaligero”, but also one of the few Iranian opera singers in the world. To his great regret, only once he has performed in his home country, more precisely when he was invited by the Italian Embassy to hold a master class for young Iranian students. This year he was invited in London to perform at the prestigious Opus Theatre in Hastings.
