Villa Cipressi is a complex of building and gardens built between 1400 and 1800.
Once belonged to the nobles Serpontis and then to Isimbardi Baron, later to the Andreossi Family who took care of the garden, as well as to Sir Astley, to Sir Salton and also to the Accame Family, nowadays the villa is owned by the Municipality of Varenna and managed as a hotel.
Currently owned by the Municipality of Varenna, it is now used as a well-know hotel / restaurant and convention center. Town hall for civil wedding ceremonies, every year it hosts dozens and dozens of marriages of couples from all over the world.
A MASTERPIECE OF ARCHITECTURE: THE GARDENS
The botanical garden, open to public, laid out over several floors, offers us a fascinating panorama all over the middle area of the lake. Typical of this garden are the many and centuries-old cypresses, from which the Villa originates its name.
